OUR HISTORY

Dunst Bros. is a family-founded building company with deep roots in Tamworth and the surrounding districts.

John and Gilberte Dunst began the business in 1960 under the trade name H & G Dunst, later incorporating it in 1970. In 1977, their sons Robert and Peter Dunst joined the firm, believing a builder’s identity should reflect its people. This led to the company’s renaming as Dunst Bros. Builders—a name that has since become synonymous with quality craftsmanship.

THE MODERN FIRM

Dunst Bros. remains an integral part of the local community, directly employing skilled tradespeople, sales and administration staff, and a dedicated team of apprentices. We also partner with trusted local subcontractors, supporting the broader Tamworth building industry.

Robert and Peter, both trade-qualified and licensed, led the company with over 46 years of industry experience. In 2015, the firm welcomed new directors, Cameron York and Kaitlyn Dunst, to continue its tradition of excellence in construction.

In 2024, we sadly farewelled Robert, whose dedication and expertise played a pivotal role in shaping our business.

In 2025, Kaitlyn decided to step away to pursue new opportunities, and today, the company continues under the leadership of Cameron and Peter. Their commitment to quality, service, and craftsmanship ensures Dunst Bros. continues to deliver outstanding homes to our valued clients.

We are immensely grateful for those who have been part of our journey and remain dedicated to building with the same integrity and passion that have defined us for generations.

We take pride in transparent pricing and never use misleading base prices to appear cheaper than competitors.

We are not project home builders. Every Dunst Bros. home is thoughtfully designed or modified to suit our clients’ unique needs and aspirations.
